What is GPS tracking and how does it work?
GPS tracking uses satellite technology to determine and track the precise location of vehicles or assets. Our devices install in your vehicles and transmit location data every 5 seconds to our secure servers, which you can access through our web platform or mobile app.
How long does installation take?
Professional installation typically takes 30-45 minutes per vehicle. We also offer plug-and-play devices that can be self-installed in under 5 minutes.
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No! Start with a 30-day free trial, then all our plans are month-to-month with no lock-in contracts. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time.
What’s involved in switching from another provider?
We handle the data migration from your current provider, and set up your vehicles, drivers, and geofences for you. With month-to-month plans and a 30-day free trial, you can run both systems side by side before you commit. Use our ROI calculator to compare costs first.

How accurate is the GPS tracking?
Our GPS trackers are accurate within 2-5 metres in optimal conditions. The 5-second update frequency ensures you always have near real-time location data.
Can I track my vehicles on my phone?

What types of alerts can I set up?

How far back can I view historical data?
GPS tracking plans include 12 months of historical tracking data (24 months on Pro Fleet). You can replay routes, generate reports, and analyse patterns for any period within your history window.

What’s included in the monthly fee?

GPS hardware is a once-off purchase of $285 per vehicle (exc. GST), and you own the unit outright.
Are there any setup fees?
There are no setup fees. The only upfront cost is the GPS hardware at $285 per vehicle (exc. GST). After that, you pay only the monthly service fee for each vehicle.
Is GPS tracking tax deductible?
For most businesses, monthly subscription fees are claimable as an operating expense. Hardware you purchase outright, such as GPS units and the Protekt Key Locker, may also qualify for the Federal Government’s $20,000 instant asset write-off for eligible small businesses. Eligibility criteria apply, so speak with your registered tax adviser.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect from your next billing cycle.
Do you offer discounts for large fleets?
Yes, we offer custom pricing for fleets with 20+ vehicles. Contact our sales team for a tailored quote.
Technical Questions
What if I drive in areas with poor mobile coverage?
Our devices store location data internally when out of coverage and automatically upload it once connection is restored. You won’t lose any tracking data.
Is my data secure?
Yes, we use bank-level encryption for all data transmission and storage. Your data is stored on secure Australian AWS servers and never shared with third parties.
Can I integrate with other software?
Yes, our Pro Fleet plan includes API access for integration with other business systems. We support REST APIs and webhooks.
What happens if a device stops working?
We provide free replacement for faulty devices under normal use. Our support team will help diagnose issues and arrange replacement if needed.
