On Hire, Off Hire, or Sitting in Someone's Yard

Live location and engine hours on every powered machine, and a register for the gear that has none. Know what is earning, what is idle, and what has not come back.

Before

The Fleet Is Out There Somewhere

A machine goes out on a two-week hire and comes back in six. Another sits on a finished site nobody told you about, still on your books, earning nothing. The hire desk is working from what customers tell them.

  • Machines still on site long after the hire was meant to end
  • Kit returned early that sat idle because nobody knew it was free
  • Hours disputed at invoicing, with nothing to settle it
  • Gear moved between sites without anyone telling you
  • Servicing scheduled on estimated hours rather than real ones
After Protekt

The Yard and the Field on One Screen

Location and hours reported by the machine itself, so on-hire status and billing rest on data rather than a phone call.

  • Live location on every powered machine
  • Engine hours recorded by the unit, not estimated
  • Site arrival and departure, so you know when it actually landed
  • Idle machines visible, so they can be re-hired sooner
  • Unpowered gear on the register at $11 per asset per month

How It Works

The machine reports; the hire desk stops guessing

1

Fit the Fleet

Units go into excavators, generators, lighting towers and anything else with power. $285 per machine once-off, owned outright.

2

Hours and Movement Report Themselves

Engine hours accumulate against the machine. Movements are logged as it goes out, moves between sites, and comes back.

3

Invoice and Re-Hire on Facts

Hours for the invoice, location for the recovery, and a list of what is idle and ready to go out again.

What Hire Fleets Use

Utilisation, billing and recovery, from the machine's own data

Engine Hours for Billing

Hours recorded by the unit rather than read off a gauge at handback. Settles the hours conversation before it starts.

Utilisation at a Glance

Which machines are working and which are sitting. Idle kit you know about is kit you can re-hire.

Site Arrival and Departure

Mark the yard and the regular sites. Know when a machine actually arrived and when it left.

Theft and After-Hours Movement

Plant leaving a site at 2am is worth knowing immediately. Power-cut and tow alerts on every unit.

Service on Real Hours

Maintenance scheduled against hours the machine actually ran, which on hire kit varies wildly month to month.

Unpowered Gear on the Register

Trailers, props, boards and small plant tracked as records at $11 per asset per month, with no unit required.

Already Running Texada?

Protekt connects to Texada, so the hours and movements your machines report can reach the system your hire desk already works in.

If your hire desk runs on Texada, you should not have to keep a second system in your head. Protekt connects to it, so machine hours and movements can flow through to where your team already raises contracts and invoices.

If you run something else, the same data is available through our developer platform, and we are happy to talk through what connecting it would involve.

  • Hours where you invoice from. Machine-reported hours reaching the hire system rather than a whiteboard.
  • One source for on-hire status. Location and movement against the machine, not a memory of a phone call.
  • Something else in the yard? Talk to us. We would rather tell you what is realistic than promise a connector that does not exist.

What It Costs on a Hire Fleet

Published, so utilisation maths can be done before you call us

Powered machines

$22 per machine per month on Fleet, or $29 on Pro Fleet, exc. GST. Hardware is $285 each, once, owned outright.

Unpowered gear

$11 per asset per month on the register, exc. GST. No unit and no install, and it does not give live location.

No lock-in

Month to month as the fleet grows and shrinks. Add units when you buy machines, stop paying when you sell them.
