Theft and Tamper

Find Out While It's Still Moving

A tracker does not stop a theft. What it does is tell you it happened while the vehicle is still on the road, and give police a live location instead of a description and a plate number.

Before

You Usually Find Out in the Morning

The vehicle went at two in the morning. You noticed at seven. By then it has been five hours, the plates are off, and the only thing you can give police is a description and a photo from the last job.

  • Hours between the theft and anyone noticing
  • Nothing to give police except a make, model and plate
  • Tools and gear in the back, gone with the vehicle
  • Insurance excess, downtime and a replacement to organise
  • A consumer tag in the glovebox that nobody is monitoring
After Protekt

An Alert at the Time, Not in the Morning

Power-cut and tow detection fire the moment something is wrong, and the map keeps updating while the vehicle moves.

  • Alert when the unit loses power, which is what thieves try first
  • Movement without ignition flags a tow
  • Live location, updating every 5 seconds, to give police
  • Alerts reach you any hour of the day or night
  • History of where it went, for the insurer and the report

How It Works

Hidden, hardwired, and paying attention when you are asleep

1

The Unit Goes In Hidden

Hardwired out of sight, not plugged into the OBD port where it is the first thing found and pulled out.

2

Something Happens

Power is cut, or the vehicle moves without the ignition on. Either one raises an alarm immediately.

3

You Call It In

Open the map, see where it is now, and give police something they can act on tonight rather than file.

What the Alerts Cover

The three ways you find out something is wrong

Power-Cut Alert

Cutting the battery is the first thing many thieves try. When the unit loses power, that itself is the signal.

Tow Detection

Movement with the ignition off does not happen by accident. It raises an alarm the moment the vehicle starts moving.

Unexpected Movement

A vehicle that should be parked in the yard leaving the yard is worth a notification, whatever the hour.

Live Location for Police

A position updating every 5 seconds is actionable. A description of a white ute is not.

Trip History for the Claim

Where it went and when, exportable for the insurer and the police report without reconstructing it from memory.

Every Vehicle, Same Price

Theft and tamper alerts are part of the Fleet plan at $22 per vehicle per month. Not an upsell, not a premium tier.

Vehicle Theft in Victoria Is at a 21-Year High

The number is worth knowing before you decide this is a problem for other people.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics recorded 22,504 victims of motor vehicle theft in Victoria in 2024, a 41% rise in one year and the highest count since 2003. More than two in five of those vehicles were taken from a home or residential land, which is exactly where most work utes spend the night.

Recovery is a race against time. Once a vehicle is off the road and out of sight, the odds drop quickly. The value of an alert is not that it prevents the theft, it is that it moves your response from the next morning to the next few minutes.

  • A consumer tag is not a tracking system. Bluetooth tags rely on someone else's phone passing close enough to report a position. They were built to find keys, not to recover a vehicle, and they are not monitored.
  • Hidden beats convenient. A unit in the OBD port is the first thing an experienced thief removes. Ours is hardwired out of sight.
  • Live beats last-known. A position from twenty minutes ago tells you where the vehicle was. A position updating now tells police where to go.
